What should I do to get VS Omni installed on my pool?
Contact your preferred pool pro, or find a dealer here. As part of the Hayward Expert Line, VS Omni is only available from pool professional dealers.
What is different about VS Omni and other smart pool control systems?
VS Omni offers existing pool owners a simple, affordable solution for adding smart control for up to four pieces of equipment, as well as spa control. That’s most people's entire pool pad! It's quick and easy for your pool pro to install in just a few hours.
What is the difference between VS Omni and Hayward OmniLogic?
OmniLogic sets the benchmark for pool automation technology – providing full smart control for premium pools and backyards. It's scalable and easily expanded whenever additional pool or backyard features are installed. OmniLogic is the preferred solution when building or renovating a luxury pool with extensive features. VS Omni provides an ideal alternative for more standard pools, and is easy to combine with existing equipment.
How do I determine if my pool equipment is compatible with VS Omni?
If you are constructing or renovating a pool with more than a pump, heater, light and one additional feature, OmniLogic or another Hayward automation product might be a better automation solution. If you are looking to integrate smart pool control with built-in salt chlorination, AquaPlus or OmniLogic provide excellent solutions.
Can I control my salt chlorine generator with VS Omni?
You can control the on/off of a salt chlorinator with a VS Omni Smart Relay, but cannot control the chlorine percentages with VS Omni.
Will VS Omni work with other brands of pool equipment?
VS Omni is fully compatible with the majority of heaters, lights and secondary pumps (such as booster pumps) on the market. This makes it easily installed on existing pools. Please check with your pool pro to confirm if your equipment is compatible.
How long does it take to install VS Omni?
VS Omni typically takes an experienced pool pro no more than a few hours to install. The process will take a little longer in more extensive systems such as those requiring an additional Smart Relay or valve actuators to control spa equipment.
Is VS Omni suitable for a home owner to install?
VS Omni is not designed for home owners to install. It’s made for easy installation by an experienced pool pro. A pool pro used to servicing pumps, filters, heaters and lights will have the knowledge needed to safely install a full VS Omni system.
How will installing VS Omni save me money?
VS Omni variable-speed pumps are designed for energy-efficient performance. For most of the daily cycle, you can simply reduce the pump speed. High pump speeds are generally only required for a brief period at the start of the day, or when operating pool equipment such as a cleaner or water feature. Energy savings up to 90% (easily $100’s per year) are possible with appropriate pump speed management – and scheduling is made easy with VS Omni smart control.
