Is Salt & Swim 3C safe for any in-ground pool finish?
Yes. Hayward recommends pool owners consult with their pool builder and/or a qualified stone professional to evaluate the materials used around their pools. Some more porous, natural stones may need to be treated or sealed. Please consult your builder and/or qualified stone dealer.
How does chemistry management differ with Salt & Swim 3C?
It doesn't. The chemistry ranges are the same with any pool, or equipment.

How far away from Salt & Swim 3C can the salt cell be?
The cable length is 15'. The salt cell must be within 15' of the Salt & Swim 3C.
Can a traditionally chlorinated pool be switched to salt chlorination?
Yes. Salt chlorination can be added to any existing pool without changing the equipment on the pool pad.
When switching to salt chlorination on an existing pool which was treated with traditional chemical chlorine, does the pool need to be emptied?
No. The pool owner should simply bring a sample of the pool water to a local pool store to be tested. The chlorinator's optimal salt level is 3,200 ppm, which is roughly the equivalent to a teaspoon per gallon. The water should be properly balance before switching to salt chlorination. Water balance addresses pH, total alkalinity and calcium hardness levels in the pool.
Does Salt & Swim 3C operate at low flow rates?
Yes. It operates at flow rates as low as 15GPM.
